Ever wonder how to make your voice heard?
Come enjoy an afternoon with your peers, learn how to make an impact on state policy, and drop in to say “hello” to your local legislators.

“Behind the Scenes”: research and strategy, identify and build effective alliances (Rollin Shelton, Mental Health America of Oregon)

“Testifying 101”: track legislation and testify before committee (Meghan Caughey, Benton County Peer Wellness Coordinator)

“Statewide Outreach & Building Relationships with Your Legislators”: targeted communication and statewide outreach (David Oaks, MindFreedom International)

“Changing the Budget”: working with the Addictions and Mental Health Division (Jane-Ellen Weidanz, AMH)

3:00 p.m. Call ahead to schedule a meeting or just drop by your local legislators’ offices to introduce yourself and let them know you care about Oregon’s public mental health system
