Special pin identifies members of Portland Police Bureau’s Behavioral Health Unit and Enhanced Crisis Intervention Team

Pin worn by officers in Behavioral Health UnitPortland officers who are members of the bureau’s Behavioral Health Unit and Enhanced Crisis Intervention Team will be wearing special pins on their uniforms to help identify them.

The Behavioral Health Unit consists of a lieutenant, sergeant, program manager, five officers, an analyst, and three clinicians.

There are now 78 officers trained as Enhanced Crisis Intervention Team officers, those who have received 80 hours of training in responding to mental health crises.
