The Department of Psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) has an outstanding opportunity for a Board Eligible or Board Certified psychiatrist. OHSU’s Department of Psychiatry, in partnership with other major Oregon health systems, is opening a new 100+ bed psychiatric hospital and 75-bed psychiatric emergency service in Portland, Oregon. We are implementing a non-coercive, highly community-oriented treatment program, which will prevent hospitalization when possible, and return patients to community services as soon as feasible. The hospital will be a major training site for the department’s residency training program, medical students, and other health profession’s trainees. This is a unique opportunity for a creative, energetic psychiatrist to treat, teach and advance their academic interests. Positions can be creative, including work in either a Psychiatric Emergency Service, an inpatient setting or an outpatient community mental health setting. The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
Academic rank begins at the level of Assistant Professor and may be higher depending on credentials. All applicants must be board certified in Psychiatry. The position offers very competitive pay and benefits, including a relocation allotment and a signing bonus.
