Methamphetamine labs are moving from the cities to remote areas of Oregon and bringing toxic chemicals that are creating environmental time bombs. Time – 7:26.

Meth labs in Oregon are moving out of urban areas and in to out-of-the-way places like forests where the huge quantities of contaminants that are generated now threaten the environment. Criminals also threaten natural resources by stealing old-growth trees, and public property like bridge rails. Follow a group of specialists as they clean up a creek in the foothills of Elk Horn range, where toxic chemicals used to manufacture meth were dumped.

At Multnomah County Jail, more than 50 percent of the people who are brought in for booking are meth users.
