Dear Mental Health Stakeholder: On behalf of the United States Department of Justice, we are writing to provide you information concerning our investigation of Oregon’s mental health system. Attached to this message you will find our Interim Report to the State of Oregon released on January 2, 2014.

This Interim Report provides an overview and analysis of the data received from the State over the past year, pursuant to our November 9, 2012 letter agreement* concerning the Department’s investigation.

You are receiving this email because you are a stakeholder we have previously received feedback from concerning Oregon’s mental health system. [MHAP did not receive this email but it was forwarded to us; we remain without any direct contact from the DOJ.]

We value community input on our process and hope you can join us Wednesday January 8, 2014, from 4 PM – 6 PM at Disability Rights Oregon for a meeting to discuss our report, next steps, and to provide us your input. The meeting will be held in the Disability Rights Oregon Conference Room located at 610 SW Broadway, Suite 200, in Portland. Please note that the outside doors to the building lock at 5 PM.

If you are unable to make it to the meeting, but would like to participate, please reply to this email and we will provide you with a toll-free call-in number so that you may attend by phone.
