As part of Mental Illness Awareness Week (Oct. 5-11, 2014), fEARnoMUSIC will perform an evening of chamber music written by composers with mental illness. The concert will be held Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, at The Secret Society in Northeast Portland. Doors open at 7 PM; the show begins at 8 PM.
The 21-and-over event, presented by Cascadia Behavioral Healthcare, will feature works from Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Schumann, Wolf and Donizetti. Tickets are $20 in advance or a $25 suggested donation at the door.
The fEARnoMUSIC ensemble is made up of three current, and one former, members of the Oregon Symphony:
- Inés Voglar Belgique, Oregon Symphony Orchestra assistant principal 2nd violin
- Paloma Griffin Hèbert, former violin member of the Oregon Symphony Orchestra
- Joël Belgique, Oregon Symphony Orchestra principal violist
- Nancy Ives, Oregon Symphony Orchestra principal cellist
