Bob Nikkel has been appointed executive director of Jefferson Behavioral Health, a mental health organization that contracts with the state of Oregon to provide services to Oregon Health Plan members.
Most recently he was Oregon’s director of mental health and addictions, and has spent the past 40 years working in the behavioral health field.
Nikkel is also a part-time faculty member at Oregon Health & Science University in the Public Psychiatry Training Program and recently co-authored an article on supported education at Oregon State Hospital that appeared in the June issue of Psychiatric Services. Another article he co-authored on dual diagnosis anonymous in Oregon will appear in its August edition.
Nikkel holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Kansas.
