Alcohol, drug advisory panel seeks volunteer members

A Marion County alcohol and drug health advisory panel is seeking volunteer committee members.

The 11-member Marion County Local Alcohol and Drug Planning Committee is looking for two members, particularly to represent the interests of cultural groups such as the Hispanic, Native American and Russian communities.

The committee makes recommendations to the county health advisory board and Marion County Board of Commissioners relating to matters on alcoholism, alcohol, drug abuse and addiction.

The committee meets monthly. The openings are for two-year terms, which are set to begin around December or January.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Nov. 5.
